Choose one bay leaf.
Before you write anything, sit quietly for a moment with the black obsidian in your hand.
Think about what you are protecting your time, energy and attention from.
It might be an old habit, a situation you've outgrown, self-doubt, somebody else's expectations or simply the noise you've been carrying around.
Light your black candle.
Take three slow breaths.
On every exhale, imagine yourself creating a little more space between you and whatever you are ready to leave behind.
Then say:
“What is mine, I honour.
What is not mine, I release.
My energy belongs with me.”
Place the obsidian beside the candle.
Now take your clear quartz and bay leaf.
Write one intention onto the leaf. Keep it simple.
Not “I want my whole life to change.”
Something you can actually move towards:
Courage.
Focus.
Peace.
Opportunity.
Confidence.
A new beginning.
Hold the clear quartz over the leaf and repeat your intention quietly three times.
Then ask yourself:
What is one action I can take to meet this intention halfway?
That part matters.
Keep the bay leaf somewhere meaningful, or if you choose to burn it as part of your ritual, use a suitable fireproof container in a well-ventilated space.
Finish with:
“I protect what matters.
I release what drains me.
I choose where my energy goes next.”
Carry the obsidian, keep the quartz somewhere you will see it, or place both together in your altar or quiet space as a physical reminder of the boundary and intention you chose.
