Begin the day with gratitude,
intention and a little light.
Inspired by traditional Indian practices that honour water, light, gratitude and intention, this simple morning ritual is a contemporary LunaWye practice for beginning the day with presence and positivity.
You don't need a perfect morning. Just a glass of water, a few quiet moments, and an
intention for the day ahead.
🌞 What You'll Need
A glass of fresh drinking water
🪔 A candle or diya
A quiet moment
✨ Yourself
Begin
Pour yourself a glass or fill your bottle with fresh, safe drinking water.
Light your candle.
Hold the glass gently in both hands and take three slow breaths.
Before drinking, pause and think of three things you're grateful for.
They don't have to be big.
A warm bed.
Someone you love.
The sunlight through the window.
A new opportunity.
Simply waking up to another day.
There is no wrong answer.
Speak Your Affirmations
Look at the water and choose one or more:
I am grateful for this new day.
I welcome today with an open heart.
I choose gratitude over comparison.
I am open to good things finding me.
I trust myself to meet whatever today brings.
I have everything I need to take the next step.
I choose thoughts that nourish me.
I allow myself to notice the good.
I am grateful for where I am, while remaining open to where I'm going.
The LunaWye Water Affirmation
Place your hands around the glass and say:
Water flows.
Life changes.
I release yesterday.
I welcome today.
I am grateful for what I have,
open to what may come,
and ready to follow where life leads.
Drink - Now drink your water slowly. With each sip, think:
Gratitude.
Presence.
Possibility.
Imagine carrying that intention with you into the day. When the glass is empty, take one final breath and say:
Thank you for this day.
Let it unfold. 🌞
Blow out your candle. And go live your day.
LunaWye Note
This is a contemporary LunaWye ritual inspired by traditional Indian symbolism around water, light, gratitude and intention. It isn't presented as an ancient Indian ritual.
The water itself doesn't need to be charged or transformed. The ritual is about the pause, the gratitude and the intention you bring to it.
From one river to another.
